Volunteering

We’re using SignUp.com to organize our volunteer opportunities for teens. We’ll need help with everything from crafting to cleaning to leading the community. Just sign up for what you’d like! If the times listed don’t work for you or all the spots are filled, just call Miss Emily at (262) 342-1140 or email at elaidley@burlington.lib.wi.us.

Make your own Sugar Scrub

August 16th 5:30pm

Registration required. Teens and Adults only.

All supplies provided. We will be using essential oils, if you have allergies to certain scents please be aware. 

Foodie Friday

Every Friday, 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Grades 6-12

Join us on Fridays and learn to cook foods from home and around the world. Build skills you’ll use your whole life and learn recipes to impress your family. And eat food!

Teen Library Council

Every Monday, 2:45 p.m.

Grades 6-12

Need volunteer hours? Love the library? Want to put your own mark on it? Join the Teen Library Council! It’s like student council, but for the library–and no elections. You want in? You got it! We want to hear your voice and do events you want!

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

Tuesdays, Oct. 18 – Nov. 29, 2:45 p.m.

Grades 6-12

November is National Novel Writing Month! Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. It doesn’t have to be good–it has to be done. Don’t worry! You won’t be alone! We’ll meet up weekly to talk about the process, share ideas, and write together. In January, we’ll meet again to edit our novels. Everyone who finishes their novel in November will get a free bound copy of their novel to take home!

Velvet Mushrooms

Wednesday, Sept. 26, 5:30 p.m.

Join us at the library for making Velvet Mushrooms! These shrooms will be about 12″ in height, and are a perfect addition to your fall decor collection. This event is for teens and adults. Space is limited, so registration is required.

Pumpkin String Art

Wednesday, Oct. 5, 5:00 p.m.

Join us at the library for making Pumpkin String art! This is a teen and adult class, and will be held on Wednesday, October 5th, at 5:00 p.m. Registration is required, as space is limited!

Spooky Jewelry

Saturday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m.

This craft program is for teens and tweens.  Come and join us to make some spooktacular jewelry for you to wear.  All supplies are included. Registration is required.

Fall Leaf String Art

Saturday, Nov. 5, 10:00 a.m. 

We will be doing decorative fall leaf string art.  This craft program is for teens and adults.  All supplies are included.  Registration is required.  

Service Learning Hours available for teens.

Totally new to the Library, but not new to the Library System, be part of a group of teen leaders who are making a difference in their communities. Meet new teens and adults who know how to create positive change! Have a voice! Join alone or bring a friend. We will be meeting during LIFT (Library Is For Teens).
