Burlington Public Library no longer charges Overdue Fines for All Materials that belong to our library.  Patrons will still be charged for all lost or damaged materials. If overdue fines have kept you away from the library, this is a great time to come back!

Children’s Programs

Get Moving! Music Program-Morning Session
Mondays, 10:00 a.m.
Join us for a morning of music, dancing and movement! Guaranteed to get your toddler or preschooler moving and a smile on their face.

Storytime with Miss Emily

Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m.

Storytime is so much more than books! Come Talk, Sing, Play, Write, and Read with us as we grow into great readers! 

Arts-ploration!

Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m.

Ages 2-5

Get creative exploring art through open-ended activities with a variety of materials! Each session will focus on exploring new materials and sensations, building fine motor skills, and on  the process of creation rather than the result. Children who put everything in their mouths will need increased supervision so as not to eat the art materials! Dress for mess!

Read to a Therapy Dog

Two Thursdays each month

Ages 4-17

Is reading stressful for your child? Is it hard to get them to sit still for a book? Does your child need to build confidence with reading? These are all great reasons to sign up to read with one of our amazing therapy dogs! Dogs don’t judge your reading ability! They love getting pets while being read to. Make reading fun and rewarding for you kid by letting them practice with one of the phenomenal licensed therapy dogs that will be visiting us after school. Registration required.

ABCs Can Be Easy
Fridays, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2.5 – 5
Come and learn the alphabet with Ms. Bree! We will introduce and explore letters through hands-on games, activities and songs. The first 30 minutes will be led by Ms. Bree, then the second part of class will be for parent/child exploration at different letter stations. *Registration is required as spots are limited.*

 

Adult Programs

Movie Monday

Every Monday, 1:00 p.m.

Join us every Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. for a free screening of an award-nominated or newly-released-to-DVD movie. Stay afterward to talk about the movie with your neighbors. Film ratings range from PG to R, so this program is intended for grown-ups. For a complete list of scheduled films, visit burlingtonlibrary.org/film, or call the library at 342-1130.

Diamond Painting

Every Monday, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Unleash your creativity with diamond painting!  Select a painting from a range of styles, match the diamonds to the symbols, and use the pen to stick them on.  Each painting takes multiple sessions to complete.  Remember to seal the plastic layer after each session to safeguard your work.  Admire your stunning and one-of-a-kind masterpiece!  

Writer’s Group

2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m. (Large group writing exercises, critiques, and pop in guest presenters.)

1st and 3rd Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m. (Independent work days)

This is a group of writers who share constructive criticism, advice, and support each other no matter where they are in their creative writing process.  

Tech Help Tuesday

Every Tuesday, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Having trouble with your tablet or smartphone? Got a new device and not sure where to start? Need help finding apps to make your life easier? Need help figuring out a software application like Microsoft Office or Google Drive? Drop in to the Burlington Public Library! Our experienced staff are more than happy to offer you free assistance! If we can’t help, we can refer you to computer experts for further assistance. You can make an appointment, or just drop in on a first-come, first-served basis.

Walking Group

Every Thursday, 9:00 a.m.

Meet Ms. Jen for an hour walk around Burlington every Thursday, weather permitting. We will meet in the library parking lot.
